Making digital photographs

  • Why digital?: Storage, preservation, transmissibility, duplication, etc.
    - One CD can hold 100-200 8x10 8x10 pictures
    - One DVD can hold 1500-2000 8x10 pictures
  • Flatbed scanners: Some scanners allow you to scan transparencies like negatives and slides. There are many price ranges and qualities out there. ($100-$300)
  • Digital Cameras:
    - Macro setting: used to take pictures 1-3 feet away
    - Megapixels: The number of pixel on each pictures. Just because it is a higher megapixel rating, doesn’t mean it is better quality.
